Our 5th Annual Awards Evening was an even bigger success than ever!! Students gained a whole range of Subject Awards across both KS3 and KS4. Special Awards were presented for key achievements including Most Improved Student, sponsored by Birmingham City University, which went to Kyhee Francis-Douglas, “it was an amazing night and I was just so chuffed to have won an award!”. The hall was packed with students, staff, parents and friends who saw the Year 8 and Year 9 boys perform a stunning dance – they moved like robotic icons, with head spins and amazing tumbles. Performances, as always, were outstanding – staff were outdone by the school band with a beautiful closing song from Louise Francis. Two other singers made the night exciting, Andre Senior and Ayanna Nembhard-Brown, plus the very sweet Jessica Long played a fabulous Irish tin whistle for our Lord Mayor, Cllr Anita Ward. Special guests were very special this year and were led by our city's hero and champion of the people, Ed Doolan MBE! He was slightly outdone by the fabulous Jean Martyn, Britain's Got Talent finalist who burst into a rock piano piece with our very own Luke Haywood on drums from Year 9. Special thanks to all our sponsors, congratulations to all our winners and a big applause must go to the staff team who put together our best Awards Evening ever!! Well done all at Team PB.
